Service and Maintenance- NVQ Diploma

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Service and Maintenance

This qualification is aimed at people who wish to gain the skill set required to become a qualified Service and Maintenance Engineer, whilst under the supervision of someone in the trade.  
1 day per week for 2 years
Apprenticeship: As an apprenticeship is paid employment, we usually ask that our students apply for the job themselves, we do post some vacancies, but these are usually offered to students already studying with us first. We are usually able to offer the course to yourself and your employer through government funded projects, which means your employer will not have to pay toward your tuition if you are 16-18, but may need to make a contribution if you are over 19 years of age.   Please contact us directly for more details.   Please follow this LINK for national minimum wage for Apprentices.
  • Carry out safe working practices In building services engineering
  • Communicate with others within building services engineering
  • Apply environment protection measures within BSE
  • Apply scientific principles within MES
  • Fabrication techniques for industrial and commercial systems
  • Industrial and commercial hot and cold water system maintenance techniques
  • Industrial and commercial hot water heating system maintenance techniques
  • Apply safe working practices in building services engineering working environment
  • Industrial and commercial air system maintenance techniques
  • Service and maintain industrial and commercial heating and ventilation systems
Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners to start work as a qualified Service and Maintenance Engineer, or further their knowledge with the Level 3 Qualification below. See below for more details.

  • Electrical work on industrial and commercial heating and ventilating systems and components
  • Principles and requirements of industrial and commercial fuel systems
  • Industrial and commercial hot and cold water system maintenance and fault diagnosis techniques
  • Industrial and commercial hot water heating system maintenance and fault diagnosis techniques
  • Industrial and commercial ventilation system maintenance and fault diagnosis techniques
  • Industrial and commercial air conditioning system maintenance and fault diagnosis techniques
  • Maintain and diagnose faults on H&V industrial and commercial systems
